What Is Smart Money?

Smart Money refers to the capital controlled by institutional investors — central banks, hedge funds, investment banks (JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs), sovereign wealth funds, and large proprietary trading desks.

These entities move billions of dollars daily, and their order flow creates the price movements we see on our charts. Retail traders make up only ~5% of daily forex volume.

Why Retail Traders Lose

Retail traders use lagging indicators (RSI, MACD, Stochastics) built on price after the move has happened. Smart money doesn't use indicators — they use order flow, liquidity, and time.

The retail trap cycle:

1. Retail sees a "breakout" and buys
2. Smart money uses that liquidity to sell into them
3. Price reverses, retail gets stopped out
4. Smart money is now in profit at retail's expense
